Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Welcome to our classroom-- the inclusive social and emotional classroom! SEL is vital for students to grow and succeed! In our class we have students with varying social and emotional intelligence. We want to focus on each child and what he/she needs. Weather that be a fluency timer, manipulatives, flexible seating, etc.

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) is a crucial part of an educational environment where students feel safe and confident to explore, grow, and succeed.

Research has shown an improvement in standardized test scores and an increase in academic achievement for students participating in an educational program that incorporates SEL. By incorporating the following skills into our classroom all students will be able to gain the skills necessary to become more self-aware, be able to self-manage and make responsible decisions independently.

With your help and the the help of the materials purchased through this project our students will be able to:

Recognize one’s strengths and limitations with a well-grounded sense of confidence and purpose, accomplish personal and collective goals independently and the ability to make caring and constructive choices about personal behavior and social interactions across diverse situations.

I am looking forward to transforming our learning environment into a socially and emotionally safe haven for our students with diverse needs.
