Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students at the school are one-of-a-kind. They love school just as much as the next child. The one thing that many of the students look forward to is coming to school as a way to escape the everyday pressures.
Our school is unique in that we offer a room for students to go to in order to talk, get advice and escape some of the things that are occurring in their everyday life.
The students come to this room as a safe place where they can talk to their teachers, relax in a safe environment, and feel the burden of stress lifted.
My Project
This project is one of a kind for me. Not only is it my first for emotional well being but it is something that I am passionate about. Over the last few years, young students are going to school carrying more and more emotional baggage.
Students are having a hard time operating school and the things that are occurring at home.
The students bring their issues to school, and we must do what we can to help them deal with it. Emotional well being is something our school district is pushing. We are in the process of making an emotional support room for our students and teachers to go to.
Having some office chairs will allow the students to sit and talk to others and work on the computer. Students will also be able to come into this room to print things that they may need for school projects, homework or to help support their emotional wellness.
