Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from a wide range of social economic backgrounds. When they come to school, they are eager and ready to learn.
By getting these books in the hands of young learners, they will enrich their understanding of language and character development.
My Project
These emergent readers will help my students become avid readers. These books are rich in language and help development necessary language for young readers. They also have a great deal of high frequency words in them as they appear throughout the book.
These emergent readers have a variety of characters that help students think about what is happening in the story and build a connection for them while understanding feelings within the character building in the story.
By having multiple copies of each book, my students can share copies during independent reading time to talk about the characters in the book.
