This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
The art room in my K-5 high-need elementary school is in need of books. Books about recycling! Books about what can be recycled and why we would want to recycle.
Children are the future of the world no matter where they live. Our children need to know and understand the importance of recycling.
It might be difficult to understand the importance when a child's street is run by violence, but we all are responsible no matter no matter where we live!
Before the actual process can be started our students need to know and understand the facts of recycling. Our students need to read about plastic, glass and our newspapers. How can one child make a difference? How can one school make a difference? How will our lives be affected if we choose not to participate and sit back and watch?
Your help will make it possible for these children to gain knowledge of a global issue and begin to react. The books will build a platform for each of them to build ideas and solutions that will affect their lives and community for the future.
