My students need an Apple Mac Mini computer to fuel their exposure to 21st Century Technology and share an existing laptop that is used for teaching and admininstrative tasks.
My 26 students are excited because we recently received our first laptop as a result of generous donations from Chevron and parents. We use this computer to teach our kids Math, Science and admin tasks. We hope to get an additional computer to setup a Apple Mac station to broaden exposure to our kids
Kindergarteners crave exploration of the world around them.
My students are a fun-loving group of five and six year olds. I stand back in amazement as the children happily squeeze into chairs to share this first computer in my classroom. They love exploring new ideas and have such bright imaginations. Computers and all related technology are magical to them and they all want to be involved! It is my hope to give them a broad exposure of tools/technologies to broaden their imagination and help them be creative.
My Project
I am submitting a proposal for a Apple Mac mini for our classroom to be used along with an existing Projector. A new computer will help the students in many ways. With the assistance of a projector, I can transcend the walls of our school and take the students all over the world. With the award of a MacIntosh computer from Chevron's "Fuel Your School" program , we no longer will be dependent on the only computer in the class that we use for teaching kids and do admin tasks. We hope to create an independent station and have this fully utilized by our kids. They will use this computer to see clips of videos, participate in on-line Math and Science activities, present their own presentations or create video's of the projects they are creating at school.
Please kindly help my students broaden their imagination and love of learning with a Apple mac Mini!
Funding this project will help my students this year and other students for many years to come. The Apple Mac mini will support the current curriculum, as well as making it possible to enhance student learning in all curricular areas moving forward.
