Celebrate Black Teachers and Students
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students this year are so full of life! Covid-19 had a major impact on the mental state of all the students in our school. This year, I can see the joy on each face as they interact with their classmates.
Imagine a class of 19 students with 19 amazing personalities! This is what I get to experience everyday. No matter the stress and struggles they may be dealing with at home, they come into our classroom with a smile and a "good morning". It really makes my day!
My Project
The African American inspired books will brighten up our classroom library in a way that exposes my students to stories that will make them proud to be who they are. It will give them a new love for books. These books will remain in our classroom library and will not be taken home by the students. These books will allow me to teach engaging lessons as some of them come with an instruction guide. I hope to provide my students with experiences that they will remember for years to come.
