Have you ever wanted a pet? My sixth grade students would love to have a class pet, a bearded dragon. We have researched bearded dragons, and have learned how to care for these desert dwelling animals. However, during their research, they have discovered how expensive it is to house a desert dweller. My students are convinced we can make this happen. They even have picked out the perfect name.
Elvis has entered the building!!
This is what my students want to be able to say. They are looking forward to caring for, showing off, and loving a pet in our classroom.
My Project
My students will be about to enjoy a bearded dragon, learn how to take care of a pet, and have a hands-on learning experience in science class. Many of my students have never owned a pet, so this will be a new experience for them.
We will literally bring science to life!!
What a better way to learn science, than by DOING science. I can teach kids until I am blue in the face, but when they can experience science..., the learning is endless.
I am looking forward to making memories with this great group of sixth graders. I want this class to be one that they remember forever. And since bearded dragons have a long life-span, they can come back to visit Elvis, and me!
