This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students have the need to see! An Elmo will help students gain access to all curricular areas.
I am a first grade teacher in a low economic community.
We may not have much financially, but we are rich in academics! We work hard everyday to meet both our personal goals and grade level expectations. I teach 21 motivated and sweet children that strive for academic success.
My Project
I am requesting an Elmo to help all my students gain access to the curriculum by projecting information so everyone can see clearly. I currently have the projector at my school site, but need the Elmo as the source to project the images. I feel this will help my students to understand hard concepts such as math, science, language arts and social studies because the students will be able to see clearly when I present. Right now, we need to sit close together on the carpet when I introduce new concepts, but with the Elmo, the students will be able to see more clearly and comfortably from their own desks!
Education is very important and most successful with the right tools.
An Elmo is so much for sophisticated than my outdated overhead projector. This is an important and valuable tool that will make learning more fun and meaningful.
