My Students

In order to become better writers, students need instant, positive, and collaborative feedback. The Elmo projector is an effective tool allowing for beneficial feedback to occur in the classroom setting.

I teach Sixth grade learners coming from a variety of backgrounds...race, socioeconomic status, and ethnicity.

My students truly enjoy technology and would be very motivated to accomplish some of our daily tasks through the use of an Elmo projector. Our school is a charter school funded by our local school district. We are unique in our curriculum and philosophy as well as our drive for academic excellence and fairness.

My Project

The Elmo projector can be utilized in a variety of different settings, but I truly believe it will have the most impact on my students' writing. For example, the editing process is so important for students to become better writers. I often have students share certain pieces of their paragraphs or essays, such as topic sentences or thesis statements. We do this verbally, or I take the time to write down what they have dictated on the overhead or chalkboard. Students would just need to place their piece of writing under the Elmo projector, and we could analyze and critique right from there. It is important for students to hear positives as well as suggestions in a timely fashion.

I am a big believer in using every educational minute, and I truly believe utilizing Elmo technology would add even more valuable educational minutes to my daily routine.

An Elmo projector allows for easy transitions. The use of this technology will also allow for easier implementation of educational activities throughout the day so I can hop on those teachable moments.
