I have a very diverse population of students that come from different family backgrounds. I teach in an inclusive classroom, where our students have a wide range of abilities. My co-teacher and I work with students that have disabilities with reading, writing, vision, and among other things. Many of our students need preferential seating to see what is going on “at the board”. Having a document camera in the classroom would make it seem like they are sitting in the front row even when they are not. A document camera will give them the ability to move freely around the room. ALL students in my classroom would benefit from this!
My Project
The way students learn is changing. My students deserve to keep up with the current technology advancements in our classroom, as it sparks their interest! A document camera will help increase student engagement and change the way they learn. In science, we do a lot of graphing and calculating when we do experiments. I will be able to put the activity we are working on together on the document camera to display to my students. This will help change the lives of my students who need visual representation to stay engaged in lessons. Overall this will help my students make connections and learn throughout the school year.
