As a new teacher in a low income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with many challenges inside and outside the classroom. Despite these challenges, my students wake up every day ready to learn and face a new day.
My students are creative, thoughtful, and loving people who need the opportunity to experience things in a fun and engaging way.
With the funding of my project, I hope my students are more engaged and take charge of their learning in my classroom.
My Project
My students need a couch that can be used as a place to sit during independent work and two rugs for support as students work on the floor. Classroom meetings are always held in one place- “the front carpet”. Your donation will go to providing my classroom with a front carpet that is large enough for all of my students to sit on and is comfortable for my students to lay on when working. Your donation will also go towards a couch that will be placed in our “reading corner”. Our reading corner is a special place where my students get lost in their imagination. Having a comfy place to read will improve their engagement and make reading more fun! Giving low income students a warm environment to learn in is investing in their future.
