My students need wobble chairs and comfy floor seats in order to elevate engagement and evolve our classroom to meet individual student needs and impact how they learn.
Creative, imaginative, eager, and excited about learning are just a few adjectives that describe my students. Gifted and high achievers are other labels they proudly possess.
Often inquisitive and love to search for answers, my students deserve the opportunity to embrace education through 21st century skills and active learning activities.
I would like to help them deepen their knowledge and gain an understanding of concepts and skills by providing opportunities for engagement in cognitively complex tasks and making learning more interactive and fun.
My Project
Flexible seating will take my students from behind desks and will give them the option of choose a seat that will be comfortable for their learning style.
Evolving the classroom to meet student's individual needs impacts how they learn, how they interact, and the entire classroom climate.
It will increase engagement and motivation - an incredible mind shift! This student centered arrangement will not only allow students to reflect on where they want to learn but also with whom they want to learn as collaboration options increase as well. Skills in self-reflection, flexiblity, creativity, and autonmy will flourish leading to improved behavior and higher academic performance.
