Help me give my students a MINDSTORMS Education EV3 Core Set for distance learning
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
All 280 students in my school from 3K through 5th-grade students can't go to school but stay home for distance learning. Each student's family receives either one laptop or iPad. My school teachers use different online resources, such as Google Classroom and Google Meet, to teach my students. Some students who live in shelters have a hard time for distance learning because they don't have enough space for learning. Some students have brothers or sisters who live in the family, and they need to share the laptop or iPad with their brothers or sisters. Although the students are facing economic disadvantages, they work very hard to complete their online reading and math assignments. I am so proud to be one of their teachers.
During this COVID-19 school closure, students can't go to school but stay home for distance learning. As a technology teacher, I need to provide the best learning experience for my students. A fifth-grade student loves robots and coding so much. Through online learning, I have been teaching him different coding concepts, and he has completed many coding assignments on code.org and Scratch. I know he could learn more if he has a Mindstorm LEGO robot set. He would assemble the robot, program to complete different tasks, and share his learning experience online. He would design different coding programs in Mindstorms EV3 software. He would apply his coding skills to robotic assignments. Please help the student expand his learning experience in coding. Thank you.
