Ms. Ledet from Eunice LA is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need a Chromebook laptop to improve on mathematical concepts and interpretation, and speakers for a student whole group listening center.

The 4th grade students at my elementary school are a rambunctious group. They are full of energy and ready to learn when it comes down to it. At the end of the school year, I want my students to leave with the knowledge of mathematical concepts through resources used throughout the year.
My students are technology kids.
They love to use the computer for anything. Whether it be to take an AR test, researching, or just using technology to enhance the lesson learned through resources. Most students cannot afford the use of technology at home. So, when they can use the computer at school, it is great achievement for them. My students are kids who are appreciative of all the little things and usually have a positive attitude about things. Unfortunately, these kids get short changed because there is only 1 working computer in the classroom, so research or extra practice through the use of math resources cannot be utilized in the classroom for the students who need that extra push from the lesson. I teach in a high poverty school, in a parish where little can be done about the technology-less classrooms.
The materials I am requesting will benefit the students in many ways. Students will use the laptop and speakers during center time. Center time is for students who need the extra practice and may or may not own a computer at home to get the extra practice they may need. For example, students who are struggling on a skill such a basic facts in multiplication, can utilize the laptop to practice multiplication skills through games and resourceful websites. The laptop and speakers would be an innovative way to enrich students learning.
Donations for the laptop and speakers for my students will greatly benefit my students to achieve enrichment in the classroom through the use of technology.
It will help students want to learn and appreciate the resources of which they are able to utilize in the classroom. Students' skill level will increase the more they practice. Technology makes a big difference in the classroom. It gives students something different to learn from.
