Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students in the Functional Life Skills classroom work both on foundational academic goals, as well as functional life skills that they will need to become an independent member of the community.
Even though it is in an elementary setting, we would like to begin teaching the students real life skills that they will be building on and using once they turn 21.
It is very important that they leave the elementary setting with both foundational academics and at least one life skill that they have mastered with independence. Thanks
