Despite so many hardships, my students come in each day eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day.
I teach special education students, grades kindergarten through third.
Our school is in an inner city in Arizona. All students in our school receive free breakfast, snack, and lunch. Our students are very sweet and polite. Many of them come from troubled backgrounds, and many students move frequently.
Many of the students in my classroom have autism. This makes school and learning much harder for them because they are usually overstimulated very easily. My students would love to have a ball pit in the corner of our classroom that they can go into and relax if they are feeling overwhelmed. The ball pit stimulates students tactically and visually.
Many of my students love animals.
I would put these animals in a bin with rice, beans, or something else that would allow them to dig their hands around in and search for the animals. The magnetic numbers could be used in the same way. Many of my students benefit from the use of fidgets. The fidgets help students to sit in a seat while playing with these toys with their hands.
