My students need electronic items for the classroom. With 27 students in the room, I need something to save my voice and make myself louder without raising my voice. WE need a label maker, batteries and more.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach in a low income area where a lot of my students do not have the proper technology and equipment at home to help them be successful in school. We all know times are changing and technology is HUGE in education. Most careers involve some type of technology and a lot of humans are losing their jobs to technology. I feel it's important that my students understand technology and the role it plays in our future.
My students strive to learn and are always curious about what we are going to be doing next.
They love hands-on activities and are able to problem solve best when they have the physical object in their hands.
My Project
We are requesting a voice amplifier that will allow me to get their attention in a quiet way without having to raise my voice. We need batteries for replacements and the label maker ribbon will help keep everything organized.
I have 27 students this year which is the most I have ever had.
The students are wonderful children, but with 27 in one room, even a whisper can become too loud. I find myself talking way above an inside voice most days just to get their attention or talk over them to actually get their attention. They are not purposely doing this. If they are engaged in a fun activity, it is hard for me to grab their attention quietly.
