This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students really enjoy hands-on activities and experiments. They are great kids from an urban neighborhood. There is a large amount of low-income families in our school and school supplies are always in great need. Supplying my students with new materials is a great way to increase their enjoyment of school. Our kids have many obstacles that they need to overcome on a daily basis. Access to the right school supplies and materials should not be one of them.

My Project

This project will make a big difference to our students because it will provide them with inquiry-based activities. Electricity and magnetism were recently added to the 7th-grade curriculum, therefore we do not have proper materials. Many of the materials and resources we have are used or second hand. New materials give our kids a reason to come to school and have fun while learning. This project will provide our kids with a hands-on way to investigate and test magnets and electric currents. These Electricity and Magnetic Combination Kits will help advance their academic careers by providing them with unique resources.
