I teach self-contained students in a 6th - 8th grade middle school setting. Several of my students struggle with being engaged in learning as well as the normal middle school struggles that can be overwhelming. In addition, my students are now trying to continuing learning from home, virtually. This added expectations can cause stress and anxiety. I want to provide rewards for them to keep them motivated during eLearning.
By helping my students stay motivated during this difficult time, I hope to continue to foster their love of learning and life.
My Project
Since we started eLearning on March 16, I have worked very hard to keep my students engaged and while also protecting their mental health. I'm so proud of how engaged they are with eLearning, the awesome job they are doing with their assignments, and how well they participate in our online Class Chats.
In an effort to offer rewards for those students who exhibit eLearning Excellence, this project was created.
When students are caught working on assignments or have completed every assignment they will have the opportunity to receive a reward. Rewards include headphones to assist with eLearning, art supplies for online projects, and games that encourage stress relief. These items will not only assist in eLearning, but they will also help in stress relief while staying at home during our school closure.
