My Students

I teach in a smaller, rural, low-income school. I am the only second grade teacher. My students are so curious about everything. They are inquisitive and excited to learn about anything that is new to them. As a teacher, I learn just as much from them as they do from me. Some students are not regularly exposed to all of the modern day advancements in technology that would be available in a more populated area.

My students absolutely love exploring and the outdoors as well.

I try to incorporate as many outdoor activities as I can into our lessons to keep these students engaged. Living in a place where it can be pretty cold, the outside is not always an option.

My Project

In my classroom, we do a lot of center or station work. We do this in both reading and math. We rotate around the room so the students are up and moving as much as possible.

Having Kindle Fires in the classroom will aide students so they can have more individualized work.

They also keep students engaged in what they are learning. We can watch videos about what we are learning, play games that relate to the topics we are learning about, and use them for motivation for students to stay focused.

Students will be able to use the tablets for sight words, math facts, fluency, memorization, addition, subtraction, reading, and so much more!
