My Students

My students are hard workers and it is easy to see tangible growth with their English skills with every lesson and activity they complete. My students vocalize their opinion about texts we read in class, the good and the bad aspects. Each student takes ownership of their strengths and weaknesses; they thrive on opportunities to improve their language arts skills individually and are willing to help each other learn new concepts.

My Project

If this project is fully funded, students will be able to read current events from a reliable source. UpFront is written with vocabulary that is both understandable and challenging to students. AP English students will greatly benefit from this magazine because they will be able to apply rhetorical analysis to the articles. For both my AP and my genEd students, UpFront will be the artifact that will anchor the big ideas and concepts students are learning to apply with their reading and writing with the standards they are trying to master!
