Help me give my students materials for ELA centers to enhance their learning.
All students are in a STEAM school. We are encouraging them in every way to become future scientists, technologists, engineers, artists, and mathematicians.
Our school is not only a STEAM (science, engineering, arts, math, and technology) school, but we are also a Title I school in southern Arizona.
Ninety-nine percent of our students receive free lunch and more than 1/2 of the students are English Language Learners (ELL) including refugees from Africa, Asia, Mexico, and the Middle East. Most students are in low-income housing, living in neighborhood apartments and trailer parks. Most of our parents are working very hard to provide for their children and get them to school. That being said, most students are eager to come to school to learn.
The language skills kits will enhance my students understanding of words through play and manipulation. The positional word resource encourages students to utilize materials that follow directions which is necessary in all areas for future education.
The Snap and Build CVC word and the Find The Letter kits will not only help students to identify the spelling of words but allow students to practice their pincer movement that improve their writing skills.
I'm so excited about The Touch and Read CVC Match kit. I have learned that textured surfaces have really enhanced students understanding and this kit has textured dots.
