My Students

My class is made up of 20 eager little learners. Even though they come from very different backgrounds, my class is a place where all children can have the same opportunities and experiences on a daily basis. Kindergarten students are naturally curious about everything. They are like little scientists making discoveries each and every day. Kindergarten students learn by doing, and they are so excited about everything we do. I want my children to have everything that they need because having the proper resources can make all the difference.

My Project

Our science curriculum focuses on living things during our last quarter of school. During this time we will learn all about the life cycle of butterflies. I want my children to actually see this incredible event rather than just read about it and look at pictures in books.

I am requesting butterfly nurseries in order for my children to witness the entire life cycle.

We will receive eggs along with the nurseries, and students will be able to observe the whole process. My children will document their findings by journal writing and drawing throughout the time. Our study will culminate with a "releasing of the butterflies". Every year my students are amazed when they see the butterflies take flight. I am sure you can imagine their little faces as they watch in awe!
