Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Living in a rural community, agriculture is a vital part of our local economy. My students range from 7th through 12th grades who see agriculture around them every day. All 7th and 8th graders will come through my door for a semester each year to learn introductory lessons about agriculture. This allows all students to get a taste of agriculture education before entering high school.
In my classroom, my students learn a broad range of information about agriculture, food, and natural resources.
Through these subjects, my classes teach students a wide variety of skills, including science, math, communications, leadership, management, and technology through hands-on activities and projects.
My Project
For the past three years, Agriculture Program has had a hatching project of some sort. Through smaller grants cheap incubators were purchased to help the program start a chicken project. Sadly, these incubators do not have the success rate that we would like to see.
The Agriculture Program needs a better, more dependable egg hatching incubator to allow for a much more successful hatching rate.
With your help, our program will receive the top of the line incubator to help our students see this miracle of life evolve no matter if we are in person or virtually.
