My Students

Peach County School District is located about 17 miles south of Macon, Georgia, and 9 miles northwest of Warner Robins. Our school district serves the Byron and Fort Valley communities. We are a rural community and our county is ranked in the top five for the production of peaches and pecans. Our system has six schools: 3 elementary, 2 middles, and one high school with a student population of 3,900 students.

We are a Title I district, which means we serve students primarily from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

Despite all the hardships many of our students face daily, they come to school excited to learn every day!

My Project

As a rural community, we want our students to participate in hands-on experiences to learn more about Peach County and its resources. We plan to use the egg incubator as a part of our Agriculture curriculum.

Students will be able to investigate how organisms change and develop over time as well as chick embryology, life cycles, heredity, and animal needs.

By taking care of the eggs and observing the chicks as they hatch, student engagement will significantly increase and students will learn valuable life skills, such as responsibility and cooperation.
