Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This year I have a group of 20 enthusiastic and loving Kindergarteners. They love to work in centers and learn hands-on. They love using manipulatives throughout all subjects. These students all come from different backgrounds, with different levels of ability and styles of learning.
My students love working hands on in groups to work collaboratively and learn by doing.
Being an IB and STEAM school, we have several projects throughout the year that requires students to research, investigate, plan, and experiment.
I am very excited to continue this educational journey with them.
My Project
Every year, our Kindergarten students learn about the life cycles of various animals. To better understand the life cycles of these animals, we like to experience it live and hands on in our classroom. To make this happen, we need an incubator and ladybug larvae. We also need food and hay in order to take care of our chicks once they hatch.
Having an incubator and ladybug larvae in our class will be so much fun!
This will allow the students to see the day to day changes of the chicks and ladybugs. This will be such an exciting and unforgettable time for the students in my class.
