Mrs. Pope from Baltimore MD is requesting supplies through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need chair pocket covers to store their supplies while they are working each day.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
Our school is classified as Title I. This means our student population receives opportunities for free breakfast and free lunch. In addition, some students are unable to come to school prepared to learn and receive donated supplies from teachers, other faculty, and families around the community. My students this year are driven and love to collaborate with one another! They are already great thinkers and come to school each day ready to work and learn. It's an honor and a privilege to come into a classroom and guide 22 smiling faces to academic success and help to form them into productive members of our future!
The chair pockets will allow students to store their supplies and materials for the day's learning. Students are allowed flexible seating in our classroom and change their seat each day. This allows them to collaborate with different students in our class each time they work on something in groups.
My students thrive on efficiency and these chair pockets will provide necessary supplies and materials at their finger tips without cluttering learning spaces!
Each time the students reach behind their chair to grab a supply, they will know that this donation made all of the difference in the flow of the classroom.
Without these chair pockets, students would have to store everything they needed for the day in their back packs in the closet or on the floor next to their seat. This has already caused students to trip or miss out on key learning because they were busy searching through their backpacks across the room. Your donation of these seat pockets will bring safety to our classroom and assist in the effectiveness and efficiency of their work and collaboration with one another!
