My Students

"I'm not any good at math," is a common statement from the majority of my students. As a math interventionist, I work with students who struggle in math, and most believe they just cannot be successful in math.

I teach students, not math.

My main focus is the instruction of math, but I make sure my students know that their understanding is more important than just completing the assigned curriculum. It is a struggle, but I see success every day!

My Project

After Hurricane Harvey damaged everything in our school, our students are left with little to no access to helpful, repetitive practice. The majority of my teaching materials were damaged by the water or the mold that grew in the days after Harvey. With the Algebra and Pre-Algebra workbooks, puzzles, and other materials, my students will be able to access critical thinking activities and practice to empower them to success. These activities help to motivate the reluctant learners I work with. My students usually have little to no resources at home with which to practice the skills they learn at school. With these activities, I know they are sure to be successful!
