Help me give my students opportunities to work on their academics in fun and engaging ways. These books and hands-on learning tools would go towards expanding skills in math, reading, writing, focus, confidence, and social/emotional awareness.
We support grades K-5 in a Resource setting. We teach to a wide range of ages and learning styles in our classroom. On a typical day our groups range from individual (one-on-one) services to small groups (3-8 students). We strive to support student independence as well as many academic, emotional and behavioral needs. This type of support is not limited to our classroom alone but carries into their general education class, the playground, lunchroom and beyond!
The various learning styles that we work with, requires us to use different methods and strategies to meet each students' individualized goals.
Providing student-centered learning environments helps allow students the opportunity to access the curriculum. Our team works cohesively to access the needs of our student population and adapt the teaching style to fit the needs of each student. My students do not fit into a one size fits all model and approach learning in very different ways.
My Project
The books, materials, games and flexible seating that I am requesting will go towards creating a more engaging and supportive learning environment. The books are geared towards helping students deal with challenging issues; such as learning disabilities and social/emotional struggles. Standing desks help our students with greater sensory needs wiggle while they work.
These books and hands-on learning tools would go towards expanding skills in math, reading, writing, focus, confidence, and social/emotional awareness.
I would love to provide our students with more materials, books, and seating options to help continue their growth and success in the classroom. My students need items to increase flexibility, motivation, and engagement to help support their academic, social/emotional and behavioral needs. Thank you!
