My Students
My band classrooms are a place of budding musicians, laughter, and great camaraderie! This year, my students are looking forward to multiple performances with great musical experiences.
My students are 6th-8th grade musicians in a rural Michigan middle school.
They are excited to be in band where they can learn about the beauty of music. My students enjoy the challenge of working together as a musical team to make something great! My students understand that music can bring people together.
My Project
Percussion instruments add the heartbeat to the band. The bass drum is a focal point of the percussion section and good bass drum mallets are important to give the bass drum a great sound. The percussion section also adds character to the music and a flex-a-tone is included in music to add an eerie effect.
New bass drum mallets and a flex-a-tone will allow the percussion section to make the music come alive.
These new instruments will be very helpful in the beginning stages of music making. Quality instruments that allow students to play different genres of music help to keep students excited about music.
