I teach a small class of ten students, equally split - five boys, five girls. They are huge knowledge seekers. They have a thirst to be outdoors and immersed in nature. Adventure always awaits us when we go explore our school trail.
This is a class that can take a simple task of making the alphabet out of sticks and turn it into an adventure!
They can recycle tin cans to make bug houses. They can use simple items to create the most inventive projects.
My Project
Teaching the basics in all subject areas can be a monotonous thing for students and teachers alike. The more practice these students can get on topics like alphabetical order, place value, insects - outside - the better.
Playing educational games is fun, but playing them outside is an extra perk!
I'd like to be able to introduce lessons to the students and then take the box of games or tote of activities outside and let the kids practice. Some topics, for example, alphabetical order, can be reinforced with nature. I can have students grab five nature items and place them in alphabetical order.
These kits and games will help me be more efficient at getting outside. I won't need to reinvent the wheel and come up with a game to play outside. They'll all be prepared and ready - a win-win for us all! Thanks for considering donating to my educational games outside project!
