My students need help covering the cost of fifth grade outdoor camp. Not only is camp a great way for them to learn about the environment, they will learn valuable life skills, leadership, and independence.
My fifth grade class is fun and full of energy. They love to learn in all types of environment especially outside. My students have the opportunity to learn about the environment and gain outdoor leadership skills. This is the first year we have a chance to go to Outdoor Education Camp and learn these things hands-on. Our school is the process of preparing for our first year at camp. Students not only will learn the new NGSS science standards, but also have the opportunity to grow as members of society.
Camp teaches students leadership skills, various aspects of responsibility, and also how to care for the environment.
For some students, this is also their first opportunity to be away from home. Students are excited to experience all camp has to offer!
We have a great diverse group of students at the school. This is a fantastic opportunity for students. However, many students who can not afford to go to camp. They deserve the same opportunities as their classmates. Help us make their last year of Elementary School the most memorable year!
My Project
This project will help cover some of the cost for our fifth grade students to attend Camp Arroyo. We will be attending in the spring of this school year.
Students will be able to participate in many outdoor activities such as: hikes, nature observations, observing wildlife, studying about the life cycle as seen in a river; as well as learning how to work as a team through a low ropes course.
It also teaches independence.
Our goal is that students not only grow academically, but also socially, personally, and in their care for the environment. Camp creates a safe opportunity for students to be away from home, allowing them to take on challenges and solve problems without mom or dad right there.
