Education--Moving On!

Help me give my students items that can definitely be used for their post-secondary education and in their dorm . The Acer laptop will be used to aid a student in their note-taking and completing lessons!

My Students

The students I work with associated with my request are seniors. They are very dedicated to their academics. They are students from a very small, rural, public school that are very involved in sports and extra-curricular activities such as band. Out of the 14 students, eight of them have been in the school band since 5th grade.

With such small numbers, the students who play football or cheer also play in the pep band at half-time of the games.

I know all the students very well. Since we are a K-12 school, I have worked with them all through school from elementary to high school. Everyone is like a big family!

These senior students are very determined to succeed in their post-secondary education and have juggled their lives to include both academics, sports, as well as community service.

My Project

On May 10, we will celebrate College Decision Day with an assembly to honor our seniors at OGHS who have finalized their post-secondary plan that fits their career goals. These items will be raffled off to get students excited about their career and college plans and to encourage college readiness in their younger peers.

Moving on in education is a big step for students!

Our school is excited to congratulate every senior, including those who choose to attend a university, a 2-year community college, trade school, enter the military, or the workforce. We hope that this event will spark all students to think about their post-secondary plans. Help my students transition a little easier from high school to college by fulfilling my request of these items. A laptop is an essential learning tool for a college-bound student. It can be taken to class for note-taking and can be used in the dorm/apartment to complete papers/lessons, used for entertainment, keeping in touch with family, and gaming.
