Education For All!!

My students need increased opportunities to communicate their understanding of critical content. Chromebooks with headphones and dry-erase boards will allow my students to share their understanding with me and with each other.

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are in desperate need for a chance to develop the essential skills needed to become an active part of digital citizenship. Being a good digital citizen is more than knowing your way around the web. It's about connecting and collaborating in ways you didn't even know were possible. At our school, resources are limited, it is a constant struggle to present my students the opportunity they so desire and need.

My students come from a variety of cultural and economic backgrounds.

We are classified as an urban middle school and that brings challenges, but also benefits. The diversity brings many perspectives, but the economic disadvantages can be limiting for students who do not have resources outside of the classroom.

The students in our school come from very diverse backgrounds and cultures, and often do not have technology available at home that allows them to succeed at higher levels.

The students themselves are very willing to work in school and take the opportunity to utilize the limited resources that are available. Our school has adopted a Bring Your Own Technology initiative, yet a majority of my students do not have access to and are unable to bring a computer.

The diversity brings many perspectives, but the economic disadvantages can be limiting for students who do not have resources outside of the classroom.

The access and utilization of a set of classroom headphones, computers and individual whiteboards will help students be interactive with subject material and deepen their level of understanding.

This will allow for all students to experience education in different modalities. The use of whiteboards allows a creative means of expressing what they have learned as well as raise questions as they learn and share ideas collaboratively.
