I have four classes, which are made up of 85 students. My students all receive free lunch and come from various diverse backgrounds. Many of my students have learning, physical and social disabilities. Even with the various obstacles that my students endure, they still have the desire to learn. They love learning Social Studies and studying the history of our country, while participating and completing different projects. The majority of my students do not have internet access in our rural Appalachian community. My students are unique and wonderful! With the right guidance and education, my students will be major contributors to our future generation. My classroom is made up of future teachers, doctors, lawyers, missionaries, preachers, social workers and many other future careers.
It is vital that my students have iPads in the classroom on a daily basis. By having access to this technology in the classroom daily, my students will have the ability to further their education and advance their depth of knowledge. We have programs in the school that are already funded, that we could download on the iPads to further challenge and tutor students. When I am working with students in small groups, I can have other small groups working on other projects on the iPad, like IXL, Study Island and Math Prep. This will allow me to challenge advanced students, as well help to advance the struggling students. Having this technology incorporated into my classroom, is a vital part of my students' education! Thank you so much for helping support our education!
