Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My senior students are serious about education! Our student population all come from very diverse backgrounds and socioeconomic statuses. My students are predominantly Hispanic and African American. Most of these students come from the south side of town, and take buses to campus.
Senior students are eager to achieve and grow as individuals and scholars.
These senior students have parents who have never graduated high school, or attend college. These situations make my students at-risk to also not graduate high school. Students within my class would like to be not only high school graduates but college graduates, and they aim high to achieve academic goals.
My Project
My senior students are creating a business in economics class. These resources will be used to create marketing and investment posters. The ink and paper are most important because they will be used to put their business into real life. The markers will be used for intricate art work or writing the student's cannot print.
Senior economics is a class that teaches real life lessons.
Students are involved in real world business situations, and need supplies and resources to put for their best work. The more real life lessons these seniors learn, the more success they will have in college their careers.
