This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are being raised in a high tech world without the access to high tech gadgets! The students love technology and are willing to play and learn whatever they can as long as they get to use the technology device.

I have students that come from different social and economic backgrounds and are exposed to many different things.

I am trying to provide a common ground with my students when they walk through the door of my classroom. I have 24 students in my classroom. They work together to make sure everyone gets a turn on what little technology I have to offer them.

My Project

Having technology in my classroom, such as iPads, allow students to be exposed to a new way to look at learning. When students look at technology devices they get excited! The students look at these devices as games, which make them associate learning as fun! With the iPad, we plan to use apps that will help students learn the value of money and personal finance. They are just starting to learn this concept in economics and iPad apps can help further these skills.

An iPad 2 will help my students learn economics, math and reading in a new exciting way.

The iPad 2 will also help support the skills the students have already learned in these areas.
