Do you remember what it was like when you were a kid and it was time to research for a project. Think about those big encyclopedias you had to lug around to find out about one topic. Imagine what you could have done with a world of information stored inside the iPad!
Technology makes learning fun!
Help me teach my students important economic concepts integrated with common core curriculum with an iPad! My school is in a progressively growing rural community with total enrollment in Kindergarten through 5th grade of a little over 550 students. The town population is approximately 66,881, with 17 elementary schools in the district. The diversity at our school comes from the economic levels with approximately 45% of our students receiving free and reduced-price lunches. I teach in a self-contained third grade class. I have twenty-three students.
My Project
My students need an iPad to do research. By using an iPad as a form of technology, my students will research and do different activities to gain the knowledge of economic vocabulary and see the vocabulary come to life through real life experiences. Students will be taught to research different countries and their markets, and then bring it to life with our own 3rd grade product market. We will also open our own flower shop! Students will gain the awareness of how economics is in everything we do and that every decision has a cost. Students will work in groups to collaborate during their research.
Your donation will make a difference in my class by providing my students with an iPad.
My students this iPad to research the world around them. This will help engage my students in skills that will prepare them to be successful in a global economy. Using different types of technology, they will share what they know with other students in our school!
