Help me give my students the eBeam edge interactive whiteboard! This projection beam will create an enhanced learning environment with integrated educational technology in my classrooms.
I teach a self-contained classroom of students with intellectual disabilities as well as other exceptionalities. We have a very diverse cultural population with a variety of income levels, but more than a third of our school comes from a low-income household. We also serve a high amount of military families. Despite their disabilities, all of my wonderful students come to school every day eager to learn. My students are passionate, eccentric, beautiful, intelligent, and all-around amazing. When you look into their eyes, you know that they are eager to consume knowledge. These students appreciate each and every day that they spend in the classroom because they know that they are going to use their minds in the most creative and innovative ways possible. My students work extremely hard and have become a family, due to the fact they often stay with me as long as 3-4 years. Since they stay with me for several years I always try my best to switch things up on them when I can and keep them engaged in learning.
My Project
My class is a self-contained classroom with students of all different disabilities. I have found that my students work best with hands-on experiences. The eBeam Edge can turn any board into an interactive whiteboard! I could provide hands, visual, engaging activities for every subject! I know it will expand teaching options and answer challenges in improving engagement simply and effectively.
The eBeam will give me a host of engaging features and so many new different ways for the students to collaborate with their peers.
I believe that this board will raise the excitement level in both teaching and learning, and it will help increase student involvement in class.
With this technology, I can have my students work together in developing critical thinking skills and building their knowledge across all curricular areas. I will also have the ability to create the learning environments that work best for each student. The eBeam is portable so even it can even travel to the other classroom I use for small groups. This eBeam could can be used during all lessons to allow students to see the text in large print for those that have vision problems. We can also use it to do games/activities to get the kids excited about learning. I will have an unlimited amount of new ways to teach subjects with all types of hands-on learning experiences.
