Help me give my students ! Help by donating funds to purchase large items for my classroom to use during school courses as well as after school so that we can fuel out students with nutritious snacks!
Our central focus is to help students understand the importance of fueling our bodies with foods that help us to feel full and satisfied, rather than quick unhealthy fixes.
Our students come from a variety of different economic and ethnic backgrounds. Currently, our childhood obesity rates are high we need to make a change. This is a small community with dreams to do big things!
Many of our students participate in after school activities, such as sports and clubs. Many students do not have the resources available to prepare healthy snacks, so it would be wonderful to have an opportunity to help provide these students with a safe location to come and enjoy a snack to fuel their bodies of amazing ingredients so that they can continue on with their day/activities.
I have been with this district for 6 years and adore these students. I am passionate about Health and Nutrition! I educate many on nutrition in FACS as well as Culinary, so it would be amazing to continue this education with them after school and allow them to prepare a healthy snack to fuel them for hours to come!
My Project
I am applying for Vitamix blenders for not only my Culinary/FACS classes, but also as an opportunity to use them after school with students staying for sports/Activities. Vitamix mixers high speed blenders and they are amazing tools to have in a classroom. The possibilities with these blenders are endless and it would be a great way to educate our kids on nutrition, as well as fuel them on essential foods.
With a Vitamix Blender, we could make nutritious smoothies, vegetable dips, soups and more!
These blenders can heat up ingredients as well as cool them down to make even a frozen yogurt! I hope to teach my students that eating healthy can be GOOD!! Healthy food is delicious and there are amazing ways we can prepare it that are delicious and fuel our bodies with the necessities we need to get us through our long days!
