My students need the Epson DC-07 document camera to visually process math steps and sentence structures. Promethean boards and white boards do not fully let students visualize what they are suppose to accomplish during hands-on lessons.
We are a vibrant school community located in South Florida. Many of the students I serve struggle to read fluently due to language barriers and home environment. With your help, I'd like to change that. My students are eager to learn, and want to fully acclimate to the colorful, rich and diverse culture here in the United States.
Students want to succeed, they just need the right resources to guide them and unfortunately, our district funds are not enough to fully nourish student achievement.
I teach 4th grade Math, Science and Social Studies and have been a teacher for 5 years. I enjoy making a positive difference and building up the next generation.
White boards and Promethean boards are wonderful additions to the classroom. However, when students or a teacher go up to demonstrate a math problem, or how to structure sentences, the body gets in the way of all students seeing what the teacher or student is doing up on the board.
Document cameras make it easier, especially for special needs students, to follow along step by step assignment instructions, math problems and sentence structures as the material is being taught.
100% of students will be able to effectively copy step by step math problems because everyone can see what the steps are as the teacher breaks it down.
I will be able to use the document camera for all subjects, and will be especially useful for demonstrating fine motor skill activities such as craft activities, and art projects.
