Easy Reading = Ebooks and Books on Cd

My students need easy electronic books that they can hear and follow along. The students can work on print awareness and develop vocabulary while listening to stories.

My Students

Many of my students are English Language Learners at various levels of English development. My students need to hear English to develop vocabulary as well as language. Through the use of electronic books they will be able to apply and practice what is being taught in literacy, language arts.

Our school is an applied learning school where students' learning is primarily through project based and hands-on learning activities.

The students are excited about learning and hardly miss any days. The majority of students in my class are from low income households and English language learners at various levels of english development. Because students are learning English, it is important to provide background knowledge through the use of real objects or through the use of visuals such as electronic books and stories on CD.

My Project

These books and Cds will inspire and spark our interest in reading. These books and Cds will not only build language development such as phonemic awareness, rhyming but it will also help with fluency. My students would love to be able to listen to books on CD and follow along with their finger and eyes, turning pages when the chime plays. While they are building their reading skills, I can work in a small group to teach other students their letter sounds and improve their phonological awareness.

Please help my students this year and in the future develop English language and vocabulary as well as increase their reading fluency and comprehension skills!
