Help me give my students an opportunity to EASE into our new reading workshop approach with a new easel and chart paper to provide instruction in small groups!
My students are a group of very unique learners. They overcome many obstacles every day. My students enter the classroom with the best "can do" attitude. They love hands-on experiences and real-world tasks. The students in my classroom have multiple disabilities ranging from emotional to learning. These special needs impact their way of learning and how they approach things daily.
The unique learners in my classroom learn in their own way and at their own pace.
They are working on learning things that are important to their future based on their Individual Education Plan. The students have a wide range of abilities and academic levels in the classroom. While some students are capable of working on grade level materials other students are well-below grade level. For example, I have students reading at fourth grade levels, while other students are just learning their letters and sounds.
My Project
Our school is moving to a new reading approach called Reading Workshop. This allows our students to work in smaller groups and at their ability levels. I am excited to provide more meaningful instruction in a smaller setting.
Posters, mini-lessons, and other instruction can be done in different parts of the room with this new easel that will travel around the room.
Having the easel on wheels, an additional set of chart paper, and a magnetic board will allow for us to remove things easily and keep things on the board that are most important! Making instruction and learning more accessible for all students!
