This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our current classroom easel is small and unsturdy. Many of my Kindergarten students cannot see what is written from their spot on the rug, which can be a huge distraction to their learning.

I teach at a school in Illinois and my students come from diverse backgrounds.

We are a charter school and much of our funding is limited. Many of my students come from difficult home lives and school is a very positive place for them. I feel blessed to have been given such a wonderful and eager group of students this year. A new classroom easel would benefit not only my current students, but future students as well.

My Project

It is important to me that I provide my students with the safest and most comfortable learning environment possible. I am confident that incorporating a new and larger easel into our classroom would greatly impact our daily learning. Our easel is used for every subject throughout the school day. We use it during our morning and math meetings, for multiple mini-lessons, and even during workstations as a display for big books and magnetic letters. This new mobile easel would help me to maintain a classroom that promotes the learning of all of my students.

As a teacher, I try so hard each day to provide my students with the tools they need to thrive and grow.

A new classroom easel is something I am not able to attain on my own, and if funded, my students and I would be so grateful!
