Easily Accessible Novel Project Books for All Students
Help me give my students classroom copies of books (Maus, Maus II, Surviving the Applewhites, Among the Betrayed, Among the Impostors, The Outcasts of 19 Schuyler Place, The Running Dream) for their projects.
My students come in excited to learn every day! They are lucky to live in a great beach community in California that allows them to have many learning opportunities.
Many of my students are excited to read all different genres of books, and tear through them quickly.
Some even read above grade level. It is a pleasure to teach them every day!
I want to be able to give my students all the tools they need to achieve their best.
My Project
Every quarter my department and I assign a novel project from a provided list of novels. Sometimes students have trouble getting a copy of a book.
I want to make sure that students can have easy access to books like Maus, Maus II, Among the Hidden, Among the Betrayed, Surviving the Applewhites, The Outcasts of 19 Schuyler Place, and The Running Dream.
If I had a class set of these books, I could easily provided them with one to borrow and put in their hands immediately. There have been many times that students have asked me for a specific book and I have not been able to hand them one. It would bring me great joy to be able to provide accessible reading to them while preparing them for class.
This will also helpful for any English Language Learners that are in the class. All students need to improve their literacy and growth as a student and person, so they can become greater assets to society.
