Our classroom consists of 25 eager to learn first graders. They have a true passion for learning. Due to the extreme poverty in their lives, my students often come to school with minimal background knowledge that is needed to be successful. There are many different learning styles among my students. The use of a classroom easel will allow these different learning style needs to be met.

Learning is such a fun experience in our classroom. Who says we can't learn AND have fun?! We work hard all year to make sure our classroom is a safe, learning atmosphere for everyone!
My Project
Having an easel in our classroom will make a difference in so many ways for my students. It will allow for different varieties of instruction, from whole group instruction to hands-on activities. Displaying books while I am reading, as well as other materials that will enhance their learning, will make all the difference! Not only will I be able to use the easel to display classroom materials, but the students will also be able to write on a vertical surface, which they are not accustomed to. Since this easel is mobile, it can easily be moved around the classroom to use for literacy and math centers as well. Students will be able to use hands-on materials such as magnetic letters, numbers, ten frames, and magnetic pattern blocks. Imagine the possibilities!
