Easels For Artists
My students need new easels to create and let their imagination run wild.
Our school is set in a quiet rural community. Historically we have been the smallest school in our district, but are growing! For the past three years our primary classes have been fuller than we have seen in years. It is a wonderful problem to have!
We love art!
Self expression and creativity is the name of the game in kindergarten. Art is used in every aspect of our curriculum. From drawing objects for counting in math to creating scenes for the seasons in science, art is everywhere!
Self expression and exploration is such an important component in learning. Children make connections and develop understanding when they are given the chance to create.
Providing new easels will equip my students with a special space for them to practice creative independence.
Students will work on hand eye coordination and small motor control. They will engage in sharing and cooperating with others since we will not have room for all to work at the same time. And finally, my students will have an opportunity to practice some of the skills that artists use such as color mixing, leading the eye with color and placement, and visual perception.
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
