My students are kind, inquisitive, and incredibly enthusiastic! They love to learn through conversation, play, and interactive activities. Due to the hardships associated with living in an economically disadvantaged household- many of my students have not been exposed to technology, a literacy-rich environment, and opportunities to learn through play.
Despite the hardships they may face, my students remain enthusiastic and eager to learn new things each day.
Their unwavering positive attitude and eagerness to soak up any new information inspires me daily!
My goal is to provide a safe, engaging, happy classroom where all of my students can thrive and grow! We thank you so much for helping us learn!
My Project
You probably got the corny pun- easeling... easying. What you hear in the pun might be silly, but the benefits an easel bring to a classroom are serious business!
It probably sounds crazy that an easel brings so much to a student's experience in the classroom- let me explain how!
We'll use the easel during whole group phonics time- we'll use letter magnets to build words that follow the spelling pattern we learn for the week. We'll use sentence strips to create sentences and place the words in the correct order. We'll use dry erase markers to write words that fit within the spelling pattern we're learning.
We'll use the easel to hang our chart paper to create anchor charts together- learning new concepts can be confusing! When we create an anchor chart (poster) together, we'll begin to understand new concepts. Helping create a poster also helps students take ownership in their learning!
We'll use the easel during literacy stations- When we work with our classmates we build words with our magnet letters and practice matching sight words on the magnetic easel! This is our favorite station!
We'll use the easel while problem solving- We'll get to take turns showing off our work to classmates by writing number sentences and using magnetic math manipulatives on the easel!
We'll use the easel during shared writing- the students will help me write stories on chart paper that's clipped onto the easel. They give ideas for our story and I draft them.
My point is, we'll use the easel throughout every school day! We would love your support in making our learning a little 'easelier'! I had to do it :).
