My students are wonderful kids! Because of their various learning and physical disabilities they have to push harder to learn. They do learn everyday, they learn academically, they learn behaviorally, and they learn socially.

My Project
My students are wonderful kids! Because of their various learning and physical disabilities they have to push harder to learn. There are some children that are nonverbal, hearing impaired, ADHD, generalized anxiety disorder or physically disabled. These children are also low-income with over 50% of them living in poverty.
These kids are faced daily with food crisis, personal health concerns, and low socioeconomic status.
They have so many obstacles that would be daunting to the most neurotypical person. For these kids to face daily challenges in home and school and work tirelessly to succeed is amazing.
My students are in Occupational Therapy as well as Speech Therapy on a weekly basis to provide them with opportunities within the classroom to improve their fine motor skill, cooperation, critical thinking, and speech is invaluable. We are requesting a mobile double sided easel for learning when we need a change of scenery for safety.
Because of task demand, over stimulus, new situations, or behavioral issues we may have times of room clear for safety of other students. Typically, the students leaving the classroom lose the opportunity to learn. Having a mobile easel with alleviate this problem and let my students continue to learn in a new and safe environment.
