This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our day starts out with children eating breakfast. When we start our day it is reading a poem and playing a literacy game. My kids deserve a great education!
My students come from poverty households.
They are very sweet kids who are eager to learn and I want to give them a great start. I have tried my best to make our classroom environment as inviting and just a happy place to be. Most of these kids do not know the difference between a letter and a number. It would be my ambition to have them reading by the end of the year.
My Project
I have no place to write and model literacy skills. I have been buying lots of chart paper but that is getting too expensive. The easel will be used many times throughout the day to model many things. I start the day with a poem and introducing a new sight word. Next, we go over our letter of the week and write words that start with the letter. Children are invited to come and practice writing the letter v this is just a few examples of how the easel would be used.
As stated above, the easel would be used to model many types of lessons throughout the day.
Children need to have visual cues and a place to watch the teacher model lessons. The easel would be a fantastic addition to our classroom. We would be very grateful to get it.
